Cookie policy

How Kitto uses cookies and local storage. In short: what the site needs to work, plus Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement so we can see how the site is used and where our advertising budget is worth spending.

Contents

1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) are small pieces of data stored on your device. They let a website remember things between pages and visits, for example, what you've added to your basket.

2. What we use

We use two kinds: essential storage, which the site needs to work, and measurement cookies, which tell us how the site is used.

Essential

  • Basket, your selected equipment is kept in your browser's local storage so it survives moving between pages. It never leaves your device.
  • Cookie choice, we remember whether you've accepted or rejected cookies so we don't ask again.

Measurement and advertising

We use Google Tag Manager to run Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement. These set cookies beginning _ga and _gcl, and they tell us which pages people visit, how they found us, and whether an advert led to an enquiry. We use this to decide where to spend a small advertising budget.

We do not use social-media tracking or advertising-profiling cookies, we do not sell or share this data with advertisers for their own purposes, and we do not use it to build a profile of you as an individual.

3. Your choices

The site itself works the same whether you choose "Accept all" or "Reject all": nothing you need in order to browse, build a basket or send an enquiry depends on the measurement cookies. Your choice is recorded so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit.

You can clear or block these cookies at any time in your browser, as described in section 4, and you can ask us what we hold using the contact details in section 5.

To change your mind, use the button below. It forgets your choice, clears the measurement cookies and asks you again.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing them will empty your saved basket and reset your cookie choice. Guidance is available in the help pages of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
